Hi what we're you doing on your tablet when you noticed the distortion? Web browsing
Playing a game?
Can you take a screenshot?
Press the power button and the volume down button at the same time for about 1 second.

This document applies to HP Slate 7 tablets with Android 4.1/Jelly Bean operating system.
Use this document to familiarize yourself with tablet storage options, and learn how to transfer files between your tablet and another computer.
Transferring files using a USB data cable

The charging cable that came with your tablet can also be used as a USB data cable. Unplug the USB connector from the AC adapter, and plug it in to a computer USB port. Connect the micro USB end of the cable to the tablet. The first time you connect the tablet to your computer, the tablet driver should install automatically. When the driver is installed, the tablet should appear in your computer's file manager as an external storage device. Browse to the files you want to transfer, select the files, and then copy them between the computer and the tablet using your preferred method (for example, in Windows 7 and 8, drag and drop the selected items to copy between the computer and the tablet).

Transferring files using a microSD card and reader

Your tablet features a built-in card reader for a microSD memory card. Adding a memory card to the tablet gives you more storage space, and allows you to transfer files using the memory card. If necessary, use a microSD-to-SD adapter to convert the tablet's memory card into a standard SD card that can be read in SD card readers on your computer.

Backing up files using an online cloud storage solution

Online cloud storage services, such as Google Drive, save your files on the Web so that they can be accessed anywhere. For example, with Google Drive installed on your tablet, you can save files to the Web, and immediately have access to them on another computer. Files stored in Google Drive are available from any computer with Internet access, and can be downloaded and saved to local storage.
